open Circuit Breaker
electrical operation
The operation of the circuit breaker by electrical command is performed by means of
motorized actvation and by the closing and opening coils, accessories installed internally
in the circuit breaker.
Motorized activation loads the springs of the operating mechanism automatically whenever
the circuit breaker is turned off, an operation that ends after approximately 5 sec. when a
internal auxiliary contact identifies that the springs are completely charged. Power supply
of the motor is made through the M+ and M- terminals (see connection diagram on pages
40 or 54).
There is also an auxiliary contact for indication of charged springs. tS+ and tS- terminals.
To turn on the circuit breaker, with the springs being charged, a pulse of voltage is applied
in the range of 110...220Vac/dc to the terminals of the closing coil: CC+ and CC-.
To turn off the circuit breaker, apply a pulse of voltage in the range of 110...220Vac/dc to
the terminals of the opening coil: S+ and S-.
Both coils operate with a pulse of voltage of only 100ms, not being necessary to keep
them continually energized.
