Dirty brake pads and disc brakes may drastically reduce the
braking performance. Try to avoid the brakes from getting
bike or greasing the chain. Dirty brake pads should never be
cleaned, they must be changed! Disc brakes can be cleaned
with a disc cleaner and if necessary, with hot water and a
cleaning product.
Open connections and hoses with leaks enormously reduce
the braking effectiveness. Examine the system in search of
leaks or punctures at your BMW dealer.
