2. To fit an electric or a manual sun blind

A
For electric sun blind only
Install the additional wiring harness (1) from the left-hand rear headrest (2) to the earth joint connector (3) X 494 on
the right-hand side of the car, along the right-hand sill strips to the fuse box (4) X 10016. On right-hand drive cars,
the earth joint connector on the left-hand side of the car X 151 is to be used and the wiring harness (1) is to be
installed along the left-hand sill strips to the fuse box X 10016.

Pull the rear seat bench (1) upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow and take it out of the car. Pull the rear
headrests (2) out of the rear window shelf by force.

Cars with a through-load facility only
Release the rear seat backrest catch in the boot and fold down the rear seat backrests. Pull both sides of the
backrests (3) in the direction indicated by the arrow (A) and take them out of the car in the direction indicated by
the arrow (B).

Cars without a through-load facility only
Pull the rear seat backrest (4) in the direction indicated by the arrow and take it out of the car.
Cars with and without a through-load facility
Undo the Torx bolts (5) used to secure the seat belts.

Remove the clips (6) from the rear window shelf.
Cut the heads off the clips using an angle cutter. It is not possible to remove the clips without
destroying them.
Disconnect the cables to the rear speakers before removing the rear window shelf.

The illustration shows the left-hand side of the car. Carefully lever the rear light (7) out of the C pillar trim (9).
Disconnect the plug for the supply cable to the rear light (7) and pull the C pillar trim (9) out in the direction
indicated by the arrow.Take the C pillar trim out of the car. Proceed in the same way on the right-hand side of the car.

Pull out the rear window shelf towards the front of the car, pushing the seat belts through the seat belt holes in the
rear window shelf, after removing the seat belt guides.Turn the rear window shelf through 180° and, placing it on a
flat surface, mark the holes shown in the drawing.
For electric and manual sun blinds
a = 10 mm,
b = 80 mm,
Electric sun blind only
d = 5 mm,
e = 10 mm
All dimensions refer to the outside of the shaped contour.
After marking the holes, drill them in the rear window shelf using a 4.5 mm twist drill bit.
