8. Reattach the temperature sender electrical
connector A to the sender fitting B.

9. Using a 7/8 in. (22mm) wrench, tighten the front
plug on thermostat housing to 23–36 ft. lbs.
(31–49 Nm).
NOTE!

10. Using a 3/4 in. (19mm) wrench, attach a new
brass barb hose connector C (PN 3860585) to
the top of the upper thermostat housing and
tighten to 18–26 ft. lbs. (25–35 Nm). Adjust the
fitting so that the nozzle faces toward the
starboard side of the engine.
NOTE!

When tightening the front plug, be sure to
use sealant compound (PN 1141570) on
the threads.
When adding brass barb hose connec-
tors, be sure to use sealant compound
(PN 1141570) on the threads.
