6 Putting into operation

6.1 Equipping the manual cutting torch

6.1.1 Cutting torch body

NOTE
In the case of a split protection cap, the cap body and spatter protector
make up one functional unit.
CAUTION
For safety reasons, the plasma-cutting torch equipped with the cap body
must not be used without spatter protector. Non-observance can result in
injuries and machine damage.
The plasma-cutting torches of the ABIPLAS
intended for the cutting of low- and high-alloy materials using compressed air
for industrial or commercial use by trained operators. These plasma torches are
air-cooled cutting torches.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up.
For the entire duration of maintenance, servicing, dismounting and repair
work, the following instructions must be adhered to:
• Switch off the power source.
• Close off the gas supply.
• Switch off the entire welding system.
NOTE
®
• The ABIPLAS
CUT plasma welding torches may only be put into
operation by trained personnel.
The cutting torch bodies ABIPLAS
70A, 110A and 150A based on a duty cycle of 60% in each case. The cutting
torch head is positioned at an angle of 110°, relative to the handle axis. The
wear parts plasma nozzle, protection cap, swirl ring, electrode and insulator
are parts that can be replaced simply by inserting them or screwing them in.
For protection of the operator, the screw-on protection cap is equipped with a
safety switch-off, which, upon disconnection of the protection cap, will
automatically interrupt the switch-on circuit. Accessories such as torch carriage,
