General
Danger
- Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other
liquid, nor rinse it under the tap. Use only a moist
cloth to clean the motor unit.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to the local mains voltage before you
connect the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord
or other parts are damaged.
- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced
by Philips, a service centre authorised by Philips or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and if they understand the
hazards involved.
- This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the
appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- This appliance is not intended to be operated by
means of an external timer or a separate remote
control system.
- Never use your fingers or an object (e.g. a spatula)
to push ingredients down the feeding tube while the
appliance is operating. Only use the pusher for this
purpose.
- Never let the appliance operate unattended.
- Do not touch the cutting edges of the blade unit or the
metal inserts. Be very careful when you handle or clean
these accessories. Their cutting edges are very sharp.
- If food sticks to the wall of the bowl, switch off the
appliance and unplug it. Then use a spatula to remove
the food from the wall.
Caution
- Always unplug the appliance before you leave it
unattended and before you assemble, disassemble or
clean it.
- Never switch off the appliance by turning the lid.
Always switch off the appliance by turning the speed
selector to 0.
- Switch off the appliance before you detach the motor
unit, the lid or the accessory.
- Unplug the appliance immediately after use.
- Never use any accessories or parts from other
manufacturers or that Philips does not specifically
recommend. If you use such accessories or parts, your
guarantee becomes invalid.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household
and similar applications such as farm houses, bed and
breakfast type environments, staff kitchen areas in
shops, in offices and in other working environments
and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential
type environments.
- Do not exceed the maximum level indication on
the bowl.
- Never exceed the quantities and processing times
indicated in the tables of the user manual.
- Certain ingredients may cause discolourations on the
surface of the parts. This does not have a negative
effect on the parts. The discolourations usually
disappear after some time.
- Let hot ingredients cool down before you process
them (max. temperature 80ºC/175°F.
- Maximum noise level: Lc = 87.5 dB(A).
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations
regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Safety features
Thermal safety cut-out
This appliance is equipped with a thermal safety cut-out that automatically
cuts off the power supply to the appliance in case of overheating.
If the appliance stops operating:

Remove the mains plug from the wall socket.

Let the appliance cool down for 1 hour.

Put the mains plug back into the wall socket.

Switch on the appliance again.
Please contact your Philips dealer or an authorised Philips service centre if
the thermal safety cut-out activates too often.
Built-in safety lock
This feature ensures that you can only switch on the appliance if the tool
holder, the lid and the motor unit are assembled correctly.
Environment

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste
at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 1).

Fruit cake
Do not process more than one batch. Let the appliance cool down to room
temperature before you process the next batch.

Place the blade unit in the bowl.

Put all ingredients in the bowl and let the appliance operate for
10 seconds.

Put the dough in a rectangular baking tin and bake it for 40 minutes
at 170°C
