READ THESE WARNINGS CAREFULLY:
• Before using the appliance, read these instructions carefully.
• Before you connect the appliance to the mains power, check that the voltage corresponds to
that on the appliance rating plate.
• Always connect the appliance to an earthed socket.
• To prevent dangerous overheating, we recommend that you unwind the power cord for its
whole length.
• Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot or sharp surfaces.
• Never leave the appliance within the reach of children or unable persons. When the
appliance is not in use, always block the steam-dispensing button, using the relevant
safety button (A2).
• Always make sure that the sponge (20) is fitted to prevent objects from falling inside its hous-
ing.
• Never add de-scaling, fragrance, alcohol-based or detergent products inside the appliance,
since these could damage it or make it less safe.
WARNING: danger of scalding.
• Never touch the hot surfaces while using the appliance.
Leave attachments to cool before changing them.
• NEVER OPEN THE SAFETY CAP (16) DURING USE.
• Caution: before unscrewing the cap (16) proceed as follows:
- switch off the boiler tank, using the boiler tank switch (13);
- use the steam button (A3) to discharge any residual pressure;
- use the main switch to switch off the appliance (8);
- unplug the power cord from the mains power socket;
- slowly unscrew the cap (16), waiting a few seconds before unscrewing it fully.
• When using for the first time or after a period of disuse, direct the steam jet into a
container to eliminate any excess water.
• Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way. To prevent any risks, all repairs, includ-
ing the replacement of the power cord, must be performed by an Ariete Assistance Centre or
Ariete authorised technicians only.
• Before using the appliance, make sure that the items, surfaces and fabrics to be cleaned are
resistant to or compatible with the high temperature of the steam.
In particular, for treated terracotta flooring, wooden surfaces, and delicate fabrics such as silk
or velvet, you should consult the manufacturer's instructions and test a small, hidden area or a
sample first.
• Never touch the appliance when your hands or feet are wet if it is plugged in.
• Never place the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the power mains; unplug
it after each use.
