DANGER
Risk of fatal electrical shock!
• Exclude risks from electrical current.
• Local directives or general directives [e.g. IEC, VDE, etc.] and instructions from
local energy supply companies must be adhered to.
WARNING
Personal injury!
• Adhere to existing accident prevention regulations.
7.1
Installation
The installation of the CIF modules is described in the installation and operating in-
structions of the product into which the CIF module is to be installed.
To ensure interference resistance in industrial environments (EN 61000-6-2), the
data cables must be shielded cables and they must be used with an EMC-compliant
cable gland (may be included with the module).
The screen must be grounded on both sides.
For optimum transmission, the data line pair must be twisted for BACnet MS/TP, CAN-
open or Modbus RTU and have a characteristic impedance of 120 Ω.
DANGER
Risk of fatal electrical shock!
Before all work deactivate power supply and guard against accidental switch-on.
Work on the control module may only be started after 5 minutes have elapsed,
due to the dangerous residual contact voltage.
Check whether all connections (including potential-free contacts) are voltage-
free.
Then, proceed with the electrical connection.
