Function Description

A valve body with shutoff valve and volume compensating
chamber is mounted to a base accommodating a pump
with suction and pressure valve. A transparent test oil
reservoir with oil filter mounted to the inside is attached
to the base via a retaining arm. A pressure gauge is
mounted to the valve body. The hole in the pump lever
handle is required for suspending the load weights when
testing and adjusting the unit. When the pump lever is
pressed, test oil is drawn in and sprayed over the test
sample at high pressure.

Requirements

The requirements to be considered for testing and
adjusting nozzle holder assemblies are stated in the Test
Instruction for Nozzle Holder Assemblies in ESI[tronic].
These Test Instructions are not supplied as standard.
!
Keep the workplace clear of chips and
contamination. During testing, ensure cleanliness.
4.2

Cleaning the nozzles

Clean new nozzles using test oil as per ISO 4113.
Clean used nozzles and components of the dismantled
nozzle holder in the ultrasonic cleaning station.
i
When cleaning nozzles, pull nozzle needle all the way
out of the body and clean the two parts separately.
Clean with the nozzle body as vertical as possible,
with the injection orifices at the bottom.
!
The nozzle needle and nozzle body are matched to
each other and must be used as a pair.
Procedure for ultrasonic cleaning:
1. Dilute cleaning fluid with water to a ratio of 1:20.
2. Heat cleaning bath to approx. 45 °C.
3. Carefully place the components to be cleaned in the
cleaning fluid; the components must be completely
covered.
4. Depending on the degree of contamination the
cleaning duration should be at least 10 minutes.
5. Immediately after the cleaning process rinse the
parts in a cold-cleaning product.
6. Blow parts dry using compressed air
7. Immerse parts in test oil.
i
After cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaning station,
pintle-type nozzles and size S and T hole-type
nozzles that are contaminated and slightly coked can
be cleaned using the appropriate cleaning needle of
the nozzle cleaning tool KDEP 2900 (0 986 611 140).
Finally immerse the cleaning needle in clean test oil
and insert into the needle body.
