RECOMMENDATIONS
7.1.
It is essential to read this use and maintenance manual in order to correctly carry out the pump transport, installation, start-up, use, adjustment,
assembly, dismantling and servicing operations.
7.2. This manual forms an integral part of the supplied product. The purchaser shall ensure that all staff who, for various reasons, may use or service
the product become fully familiar with the contents of this manual.
7.3. The electric pumps described in this manual are "not designed for domestic use" or similar. They must therefore be beyond the reach of children
or inexpert persons.
7.4.
The instructions in this manual apply to the "standard" version of the electric pump. Similar electric pumps supplied "according to requirements"
(check for the job N° on the electric pump data plate) may or may not fully comply with the instructions herein.
7.5. The pump supplier shall not be held responsible for any damages to persons, animals or property caused by failure to strictly comply with all the
instructions in this manual.
7.6. The supplementary data plates supplied with the electric pump must be kept together with this use and maintenance manual in the vicinity of the
electrical equipment so that they can be quickly and easily consulted.
7.7. For safety reasons and to ensure compliance with the warranty conditions, the purchaser shall be forbidden to use the pump should this become
faulty or in the event of a sudden variation in the performances of the pump itself.
7.8. The purchaser shall be responsible for installing alarm systems, arranging for inspections and servicing operations able to prevent any form of
risk caused by electric pump malfunction.
7.9. Contact Caprari SpA or one of their authorized After- Sales Service Centers for any further information that may be required.
7.10. If the power supply cable breaks, immediately ask for a genuine Caprari spare specifying the code and serial numbers of the electric pump and
the type of cable required (auxiliary or power supply) in your request.
7.11. Apart from checking the rotation direction as described in paragraph 17, never ever connect the electric pump to the electricity main until the
pump itself has been installed in its system.
ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE - ATEX VERSION
8.
8.1. Construction of these electric pumps complies with standards EN1127-1, EN80079-36, EN80079-37, EN60079-0, EN60079-1. Before
the machine is installed, check that the flameproofing characteristics coded on the electric pump data plate conform to the
classification requirements of the installation area.
8.2. Do not work on cable glands, connectors, or open the motor casing; these works are reserved to Caprari authorised workshops.
The flameproof joints cannot be repaired. It is possible to shorten the electrical cables while respecting a minimum length of 3000
mm (EN60079-14).
8.3. The operating characteristics of these machines must comply with the characteristics specified in the nameplate and in the
attached EX certificate.
8.4. The minimum head is at the top of the electric motor for machines operating in S1 service mode; instead, a head over the motor
in case of cooling system activation is not required (always check NPSH). It is located over the pump casing for electric pumps
operating with cooling system activated.
8.5. It is obligatory to connect the thermal probes to the control equipment of the electric pump. The temperature sensor tripping
must cut the electric pump power supply. Reset must not be automatic, but should be possible only after inspection by qualified
staff.
If the motor is equipped with PTC probes, read the manual for information on installation.
8.6. No change to the machines or replacement of parts of the electric motors is allowed. It is allowed to only replace wet end parts
(numbered L1 to L19 of the Section in question) with identical genuine parts (same part number or same code on the part) in case
of normal wear and tear. Any service other than ordinary maintenance can only be carried out by Caprari S.p.A.
The class of screws used to assemble the flameproof casing must be A2-70 ISO 3506-1.
8.7
The optional use of the conductivity sensor is conditioned on the use of a control device installed in the control panel and
compliant with potentially explosive environment requirements.
8.8
Activate all possible measures to prevent the following malfunctions as they could cause and trigger an explosion:
- dry running of the pump or 0/Q capacity: foresee a pressure and/or capacity probe directly connected to the control panel with
manual restarting, as to avoid the electric pump operating in such conditions;
- pump shaft bearings damage: in case of increased vibrations and/or noise during operation, stop the pump and send it to
authorized Caprari workshop.
