4. Sterilisation of feeding bottles, teats
4.1 General information on
sterilising
Newborn babies do not initially have
sufficient antibodies to be able to protect
themselves from pathogenic germs.
For this reason it is vital that sterilised teats
and bottles are used when preparing infant
feeds.
Even tiny feed residues left on teats and
bottles
can
easily
contamination (microbial growth).
The steam steriliser uses heat to sterilise
the components. Water is converted into
steam. The humid heat generated therefore
sterilises
the
components
steriliser swiftly and reliably. This way the
teats and feeding bottles only come into
contact with hot steam.
As the steam steriliser uses very little water,
only minimal power is required too.
4.2 Sterilisation
Beware!
All
component
sterilised must be washed thoroughly and
be free of any food residues.

1. Remove the measuring jug
base 6 (Fig. A).
2. Using the jug
measure 70ml of tap

water and pour into the base 6 (Fig. A).
70 ml corresponds to two beakers

full of water (2x 35ml).
3. Place the steam receptacle 5 on the
base 6 (Fig. B).
4. Place the bottle holder 4 in the steam
receptacle (Fig. C).
Always sterilise the bottles open

5. Place the open bottles in the holder 4
(Fig. D).
Stack the lids if possible in the

6. Place the accessories basket 3 on top of
the steam receptacle (Fig. F).
7. Lay the accessories in the basket 3
(Fig. G).
8. Place the lid 1 on top of the basket 3
(Fig. H).
9. Insert the mains plug into a suitable
socket.
10.Switch on the device by sliding "ON/
OFF" switch 8 to "ON".

start switch 7 has already been pressed

11.Start sterilisation by pressing start
switch 7.
Indicator light 9 comes on (Fig. I).
The steam steriliser automatically goes to
standby after sterilising and the indicator
light will go out.
12.To end sterilisation prematurely, slide
"ON/OFF" switch 8 to "OFF".
Warning!
Directly after switching off, the
appliance will still contain steam,
which will, to some extent, escape
through the steam outlet valve.
You should therefore take care not
to
scald
yourself.
