4 When needed adjust the limit positions for a coiled
and uncoiled hose.
4.2 Connection duct
See pictures on
Figure
4. The connection hose sup-
plied with the reel should be used for connecting the
reel to duct systems and a central fan. NB! The duct
must be fitted with hose clips. Do not drill or fit with
screws.
4.3 Fan positioning
A suitable fan can be selected from the Nederman fan
range. To avoid leakage in the ducting system the fan
should be positioned outdoors or as near the duct out-
let in the room as possible.
4.4 Electrical installation
See the wiring diagram on
All electrical work must be done by a qualified electri-
cian according to local regulations.
All electrical connections should be checked to ensure
they are tight, prior to applying power.
Connect the reel to the power supply by joining the in-
coming cable to the connection block in the reel's re-
ceiver.
After installation check that the functions for uncoil-
ing and coiling the hose correspond to the press but-
ton arrows on the hand control. If not, reconnect the
cable from the hand control correctly on the connec-
tion block.
Cable recommendation for the hand control: 3 x 0.75
2
mm
, to be connected according to the wiring dia-
gram.
The reel is factory set for the voltage supply of
230/240 V AC.
4.5 Setting the code
Only for a remote-controlled hose reel.
To allow the use of a number of reels in one location,
the reel must be coded. NB! Each reel must have its
own code. At delivery, code C has been set (see fig-
ure). To set another code:
1
Make sure the reel is connected to the power sup-
ply.
2
Open the hand control and set one of 8 possible
codes.
3
Put the hand control together. Aim it against the
reel's indicator and push the SET- button (minim-
um 7 s). The indicator verifies by green flashing
light for approximately 2 s. Using the enclosed la-
bels (A B C), mark the hand control and the reel
with the same code letter.

If more than 8 reels are to be used in the same room,
reels with the same code should be placed at least 10
m from each other to reduce the risk of interference.
4.6 Adjusting the limit positions for the
coiled and uncoiled hose.
When delivered the reel has the limit positions adjus-
ted for the hose mounted on the reel. When needed
the limit positions can be adjusted again. A reset of
the limit positions then must be done in the follow-
ing way. Push the up-and-down buttons on the hand
control at the same time (10 s) until the indicator has a
fixed red light (2 s).
Both limit positions must be adjusted, always
the upper at first, then the lower.
4.6.1 Adjusting the upper limit position
1
Push the up-button on the hand control. Let the
hose be moved to the required upper position. Re-
lease the button.
2
Push the up-and-down button at the same time.
The indicator is flashing green (8x) for a short
time. The limit position has now been adjusted.
4.6.2 Adjusting the lower limit position
1
Push the down button on the hand control. Let the
hose be moved to the required lower position. Re-
lease the button.
2
Push the up-and-down button at the same time.
The indicator is flashing green (5x) for a short
time. The limit position has now been adjusted.
5 Applications
NedermanExhaust Hose Reel is designed for station-
ary use only and can, depending on hose diameter, be
connected to cars, trucks or other vehicles with simil-
ar motor sizes. The following air flows are recommen-
ded:
5.1 Reels for cars
75/100 mm (3"/4") hose: 400 - 600 m
cfm)
5.2 Reels for trucks
125/150 mm (5"/6") hose: 800 - 1200 m
700 cfm)
WARNING! Risk of explosion
The reel must not be used for other purposes
than exhaust extraction.
