Regrinding saw chain
Special tools are required to
sharpen the saw chain and
guarantee that the blades of the
chain are sharpened at the correct
angle and to the correct depth.
We recommend having the saw
chain reground by specialist.
Transporting the appli-
ance
Using a vehicle
Before transporting the appliance
on or in a vehicle:
Switch off motor and remove

connection cable.
Leave motor to cool down

(approx. 30 minutes).
Place sheath on cutting

mechanism.
Drain chain lubricating oil out

of the power tool.
Secure the power tool against

slipping.
Short distances
Stop the engine.

Pull out mains plug.

Place sheath on cutting

mechanism.
Carry the power tool by the

hand grip.
Identifying and eliminating
malfunctions
Faults which occur while you are
using your appliance often have
simple causes which you should
know and should be able to rectify
yourself to some extent.
In cases of doubt your specialised
garage will be pleased to assist
you further.
Fault/Malfunction
Motor is not running.
Cause
No mains voltage.
Remedy
Check power cord, plug, socket and
fuse.
Cause
Power cord defective.
Remedy
Have it replaced by an electrician.

Shutting down the power
tool
Caution
Damage to appliance materials
Keep the appliance only in clean
and dry rooms when the engine
is cold. During prolonged storage,
e.g. in winter, ensure that the appli-
ance is protected against rust.
At the end of the season or when the
appliance will not be used for longer
than a month:
Clean the appliance.

To protect metal parts from rust,

wipe them all down with an oiled
cloth (resin-free oil) or apply
an oil spray.
Place sheath on cutting

mechanism.
Prolonged shutdown:
For a prolonged period of non-

use always drain the chain
lubricating oil out the power tool.
Store the power tool in a dry

place.

Warranty

The warranty rules issued by our
company or the importer apply
to every country.
During the warranty period, any
malfunctions of the appliance
caused by a material or manu-
facturing defect will be repaired free
of charge. In the event of a warranty
claim, please take the appliance,
with proof of purchase, to your
original dealer, or to the nearest
authorised customer service centre.
