If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used, (1) the
marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the longer cord should be arranged so
that it will not drape over the counter top or table where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over unintentionally.
POWER CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on power cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the power cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If
any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the
power cord replaced. Please return it to an authorized service technician.
5. Never wrap the power cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place
undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray
and break.
DO NOT OPERATATE APPLIANCE IF THE POWER CORD SHOWS ANY
DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS
WORKING ENTIRELY.
BEFORE USING:
1. Carefully unpack the coffee maker.
2. Wash filter basket, holder, carafe and lid in warm, soapy water, rinse well
and dry thoroughly.
3. Wipe all other parts with a soft, clean cloth or sponge to remove small
particles collected during packing and handling.
4. Important: Before making your first carafe of espresso, it will be necessary
to run water through the coffee maker two times; this will thoroughly
cleanse the unit. To run water through, follow instructions for making
espresso coffee, but leave out the coffee.
