– Wear hearing protection, protective goggles,
dust mask and gloves as required. As dust mask,
use at least a particle-filtering class FFP 2 half-
mask.
– Use a suitable vacuum cleaner for cleaning the
workplace. Prevent settled dust from being
swirled up by sweeping.
Operation
Starting Operation
Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of
the power source must agree with the voltage
specified on the nameplate of the machine.
Power tools marked with 230 V can also be op-
erated with 220 V.
Products sold in AUS and NZ only: Use a residual
current device (RCD) with a rated residual current
of 30 mA or less.
Switching On and Off
To start the power tool, push the On/Off switch 1
forwards.
To lock the On/Off switch 1, press the On/Off
switch 1 down at the front until it latches.
To switch off the power tool, release the On/Off
switch 1 or, if it is locked, briefly push down the
back of the On/Off switch 1 and then release it.
Check grinding tools before using. The grind-
ing tool must be mounted properly and be able
to move freely. Carry out a test run for at least
one minute with no load. Do not use damaged,
out-of-centre or vibrating grinding tools. Dam-
aged grinding tools can burst and cause injuries.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on
when using it.
Restarting Protection
The restarting protection feature prevents uncon-
trolled restarting of the machine after an interrup-
tion in the power supply.
To restart the operation, switch the On/Off switch
1 to the Off position and start the machine again.
Note: Check the function of the restarting protec-
tion feature regularly by having the mains plug
pulled during operation and plugged in again after-
wards.

Reduced starting current
The electronic reduced starting current limits the
power consumption when switching the tool on
and enables operation from a 13 ampere fuse.
Constant Electronic Control
Constant electronic control holds the speed con-
stant at no-load and under load, and ensures uni-
form working performance.
Overload Protection
When overloaded, the motor comes to a stop. Re-
lieve the load on the machine immediately and al-
low to cool down for approx. 30 seconds at the
highest no-load speed.
Sanding close to the edge (see figure B)
For grinding close to the edge, slide the locking de-
vice 7 forwards () and swing the movable part of
the guard 6 sideways (). Lock the locking device
7 ( ).
Working Advice
Clamp the workpiece if it does not remain sta-
tionary due to its own weight.
Do not strain the machine so heavily that it
comes to a standstill.
Do not touch diamond cup wheels before they
have cooled. Diamond cup wheels become very
hot while working.
Apply the power tool to the workpiece only when
switched on.
Move the machine with a circular motion or alter-
nately in length and crosswise direction over the
workpiece/surface applying moderate pressure.
For removal of coatings, the machine can also be
guided at a small angle to the workpiece surface
without a reduction of the dust extraction capacity.
