• In case of vertical cuts put in the machine at the top and
lower it by its own weight, guided by hand.
• When using the machine for extended periods of time,
the user could become tired thanks to vibrations. To
avoid this take pauses on a regular base.
EMISSION
Vibration emission value ah = 6 m/s².
Uncertainty K < 2,75 m/s².
The level of the sound pressure for machines, de-
veloped for cutting stone and similar materials,
depends on a lot of factors: type of diamond cut-
ting blade, the material to be cut, the use of water.
Typically the A-weighted noise levels of the product are:
Sound pressure level 93 dB(A); Sound power level 105
dB(A). Uncertainty K=3 dB.
Measured values determined according to EN 60745-1.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
According to the European regulation 2012/19/
EU, CARAT is responsible to recycle old electric
drill motors. You are therefore requested to return
old CARAT electric drill motors to your local resel-
ler.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
The wall-saw machine W-3714 only needs a limi-
ted maintenance.
• It is desirable to clean the interior with compressed air
after fi nishing the job.
• Make sure the vent hole of the motor is kept free and
clean.
• Check if the synthetic guide rollers run smoothly.
• Checking the machine by a specialist is advisable after
300 working hours.
• Only use original spare parts.
Changing the carbon brushes
It is desirable to check the wear of the carbon brushes
(#9) after 100 eff ective working hours. Moreover check the
carbon brushes if these can still move freely in the brush
holders.
Procedure:
• Pull the plug out from the power supply.
• Loosen the caps by using a screwdriver and take the car-
bon brushes out of the machine.
• If necessary, replace the carbon brushes.
• Screw the caps of the carbon brushes into the machine
again.
• Switch the machine ON and leave it running freely, for
approximately 10 minutes, before using it again.

ENGLISH – ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
FAILURES
The electromotor doesn't start up:
1.
Check the mains voltage and/or the electrical connec-
tion of the motor.
2.
Check if the PRCD switch (#10) is in the ON-position.
3.
Check if the thermal circuit breaker (#7) is not tripped
and does not show a white edge along the button.
4.
Check if the cables are correctly connected.
5.
Check if the carbon brushes (#9) aren't worn out.
The electromotor starts up, but the diamond cutting
blade doesn't turn:
1.
Check if the bolt is tightened suffi ciently on the fl ange
set (see page 4, fi gure A).
2.
Check if the gear wheel transmission functions well.
Turn around the driven shaft and attentively listen if
the armature revolves simultaneously. If not, please
contact a specialist to check the machine.
The diamond cutting blade is running but swings:
1.
Check if the fl anges and the centre of the diamond
cutting blade are clean. Remove visible dirt.
2.
Check the straightness of the diamond cutting blade.
In case of doubt contact your supplier.
3.
In case of oscillation by clearance on the bearing or
a crooked shaft, contact the supplier. Working with a
swinging blade can lead to dangerous situations.
The diamond cutting blade cuts too slowly.
1.
Check the saw depth. Cutting in concrete or stone has
to be done in steps of 2,5 to 5 cm. Depending of the
hardness of the stone (medium hard, abrasive stone
material) a 5 until 8 cm saw depth is possible.
2.
The diamond cutting blade is blunt. The diamond
grains are worn out and not sticking out of the me-
tal bonding. Check this by scratching your nail at the
edge of the diamond cutting blade. In case of a blunt
blade you feel a polished surface. You can easily sol-
ve this problem by making some cuts into an abrasive
stone material. A special grindstone is available.
The diamond cutting blade gets blunt from:
1.
The power of the motor can go down by using exten-
sion cables. The saw speed also goes down and the
diamond cutting blade becomes blunt. Do not use ex-
tension cables longer than 30 meter. A minimum thick-
ness of 2,5 mm² is necessary. In case of using cable
drums these need to be unrolled completely.
2.
The type of blade is not suitable for the material to be
sawn. You need a diff erent kind of blade for cutting
concrete or hard stone and cutting abrasive materials.
Please contact the supplier for a professional advice.
3.
The direction of the rotation of the diamond cutting
blade does not correspond with the direction on the
machine. Depending on the time length of the incor-
rect use, the direction of the diamond cutting blade
must be changed or contact the supplier for a profes-
sional advice.
4.
The diamond cutting blade does not rotate centrically.
By pushing the diamond cutting blade into the mate-
rial, the diamond textures will break and the diamond
cutting blade becomes blunt. When the diamond cut-
ting blade is worn out eccentric the manufacturer has
the possibility to make it centric again.
