APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
This wiring modification is for models BG770 and BG790.
FUNCTIONS
This modification provides a timer for a barrier gate operator.
The timer will close the gate after a specified time period
whenever the gate is not fully closed and all the open and safety
devices are cleared. A switch can be put on either purple wire to
defeat the timer for an extended period of time (Figure 3). The
timer is adjustable in 1 second increments from 1 second to
1,023 seconds (17 minutes).
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Refer to the gate operator owner's manual for complete
wiring diagrams.
1. Disconnect power to the operator.
2. Inside the control box, remove the wire between terminals
2 and 3 (Figure 1).
3. Install the timer in the control box using the fastening strips
(provided) or industrial strength double sided tape.
4. Connect the purple wires from the timer to terminals
2 and 3 (Figure 2).
5. Remove the jumper wire between terminals 1 and 5
(Figure 1).
6. Ensure that there is no jumper wire between terminals 8 and
9. If a close button was used, it will no longer function once
the timer is installed.
7. Test all safety devices to verify proper functionality.
8. Reconnect power to the operator.
TIMER TO CLOSE MODIFICATION
INDUSTRIAL DUTY BARRIER GATE
To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from
electrocution, disconnect electric power to operator BEFORE
installing.
ALL electrical connections MUST be made by a qualified
individual.
