3.2 Helmet liner
The helmet liner enables the optimal fitting of the helmet on the head. The
headband padding is attached using a Velcro strip, permitting it to be cleaned
easily. The headband can be removed from the helmet for cleaning without
tools. The entire helmet liner can be replaced easily due to the simple screw
attachments on 3 points on the interior shell of the helmet. The method of
adjusting the headband to the relevant hat size from the outside provides
individual adjustment. The height the helmet is worn on the head can be varied
by 2 ratchet adjusters located on the left and right rear side of the helmet liner.
At the same time this adjusts the distance from the nose to the visor (important
for people who wear glasses). The height of the browband can be adjusted in 3
positions. The browband can be adjusted horizontally (2 positions) in order to
provide a basic setting for the head size.
3.3 Chin strap
The trapezoidal chin strap is made from flame-retardant, highly heat resistant
material. The chin straps ensure good wear comfort in conjunction with the
integrated padding (optional). The width and the height of the chin strap can be
adjusted individually around the neck by means of Velcro strips.
NOTE: This helmet fulfills the requirements of EN 16471:2014 and EN 16473:2014 for the
strap system if the chin strap supplied by the manufacturer is worn and adjusted
according to these regulations.
3.5 Neck protector
The helmet is equipped with a neck protector. All the materials are flame
retardant and highly heat resistant. The neck protectors are attached with
a clamping strip to the helmet liner or to the helmet shell and can be easily
removed for cleaning. The neck protector amply covers the neck and ears while
still allowing for problem-free communication. Neck protectors are wear parts; a
sufficient number should be kept in stock.
WARNING: The neck protection is a protective guard, which is made of a soft flexible
material. These materials have a limited ruggedness and can only provide limited
protection. In operations in which a flashover or a similar event is to be expected, we
strongly recommend that all-round neck protection and a flame protection hood be
used.
