4. Intended use
The brush cutter (using the cutting blade) is designed
for cutting young trees, strong weeds
and undergrowth.
The power trimmer (using the line spool with cutting
line) is designed for cutting lawns, grassed areas and
small weeds.
The hedge trimmer is suitable for cutting hedges,
bushes and shrubs.
The pole-mounted powered pruner is designed for
lopping off tree branches. It is not suitable for exten-
sive sawing work, felling trees or sawing any materi-
als other than wood.
The operating instructions as supplied by the manu-
facturer must be obeyed to ensure that the equip-
ment is used properly. Any use which is not expressly
permitted in the manual may result in damage to the
equipment and place the user in serious danger. Be
sure to observe the restrictions in the safety instruc-
tions.
Please note that our equipment has not been de-
signed for use in commercial, trade or industrial appli-
cations. Our warranty will be voided if the equipment
is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses
or for equivalent purposes.
Important. Due to the high risk of bodily injury to the
user, the power scythe must not be used to carry out
the following work: to clean dirt and debris off walk-
ways, or to chop up tree or hedge clippings.
The equipment is allowed to be used only for its pre-
scribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a
case of misuse. The user/operator and not the man-

5. Important information
m CAUTION: Read all safety regulations and in-
structions. Any failures made in following the safety
regulations and instructions may result in an electric
shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Keep all safety regulations and instructions in a
safe place for future use.
The term "electric tool" used in the safety instructions
refers to electric tools operated from the mains power
supply (with a power cable) and to battery operated
electric tools (without a power cable).
Electrical safety
The connector plug from this electric tool must fit
–
into the socket. The plug should never be altered
in any way. Never use adapter plugs together with
earthed electric tools. Unaltered plugs and correct
sockets reduce the risk of an electric shock.
Avoid bodily contact with earthed surfaces such
–
as pipes, heating, ovens and fridges. The risk of
electric shock is increased if your body is earthed.
Keep the tool out of the rain and away from mois-
–
ture. The ingress of water into an electric tool in-
creases the risk of an electric shock.
Do not use the cable to carry the electric tool, to
–
hang it up or to pull it out of the socket. Keep the
cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and mov-
ing parts of the appliance. Damaged or entangled
cables increase the risk of an electric shock.
If you are working outdoors with an electric tool,
–
only use extension cables which are designed spe-
cifically for this purpose. Using specially designed
outdoor extension cables, the risk of electric shock
is reduced.
If operation of the electric tool in a damp envi-
–
ronment can not be avoided, use a earthleakage
circuit-breaker. The earth-leakage circuit-breaker
reduces the risk of an electric shock.
Keep cables clear of where you are cutting.
–
Before you use the hedge trimmer, examine the
–
power cable for signs of damage and aging.
Use the hedge trimmer only when the power cable
–
is in good working order.
Do not remove the power plug from the socketoutlet
–
by pulling on the cable. Never carry the tool by its
cable. Take care not to damage the cable in any way.
Protect cables from heat, caustic fluids and sharp
–
edges. Replace damaged cables immediately.
If the blades become jammed, e.g. due to thick
–
branches or the like, switch off and unplug the
hedge trimmer immediately. Only then are you to
remove the cause of the obstruction.
Use only cables and connectors approved for out-
–
door use:
power cable HO7RN-F 2x1.0 with integral two-
–
plug plug;
extension cable HO7RN-F 3G1.5 with rainwa-
–
ter- protected earthing-pin plug and earthing-
contact coupling.
