Shift knob with light
BMW 3 Series E 46
Technical knowledge is required.
Installation time approx. 0.5 hours, which can vary
according to the condition and fittings of the
vehicle.
All working steps are represented on left-hand
drive models. Certain tasks have to be carried out
in mirror image for right-hand drive models.
Required tools and auxiliary materials
Phillips screwdriver
Universal piers

2. Dismantle shift knob
F 46 25 003 ZS
Dismount shift knob (1) from gearshift lever with a
vigorous pull. Lift off gearshift lever cover (2) from
the centre console and remove it from the vehicle.
Shift knob will no longer be required.
3. Dismantle function support of
the centre console
F 46 25 004 ZS
Take out storage box (1).

Undo Phillips screws (1) and raise the panel (2).
Unpin electrical plug-in connectors of the window
regulator controls (3) and remove panel (2).

Remove damping piece (1) from the vehicle,
undo Phillips screws (2) and raise the function
support (3). Unpin electrical plug-in connectors
and remove function support (3) from the vehicle.
4. Fit supplementary wiring
harness
F 46 25 007 ZS
Connect supplementary wiring harness (1) to the
ashtray light (3) using quick connector (2).
Attach insulation-piercing connector (A) to the
wiring harness using cable tie (F).
