Intended use
The ultrasonic meter radio 3 serves exclusively for the physically correct data collection
of energy consumption. The meter is suitable for water circulating in heating systems (wa-
ter without additives, exceptions: see AGFW FW510). Alteration of the ultrasonic meters
is not permitted.

If a sealed meter is damaged or removed by a person not authorised by Techem,
the calibration is no null and void.
Safety and hazard information
Ö The regulations for the use of energy meters must be observed.
Ö The meter is in accordance with the Hazardous Goods Class 9, UN3091 (Batteries in
Equipment). - Special legal regulations apply for shipping, transportation and storage.
It is mandatory to conform with these, even when returning defective devices!
Ö The piping system must be fully earthed.
Ö Lightning protection must be guaranteed via the house installation.
Ö Only clean the outside of the meter using a soft, slightly moistened cloth.
Power supply
Long-life battery, designed to last for the service life of the meter.
Cannot be replaced.
Device structure / Technical data
The ultrasonic meter consists of: Volume measuring section, • 2 free, fixed temperature
sensors,• computer unit.
• Measurement and the radio frequency function are started when flow occurs.
To start the radio frequency function immediately, simultaneously press both
operating buttons for 5 seconds Confirmation of radio frequency with 3 sec. display
CALL on the display.
• Ex-works programmed due date: 01.01. The due date value is formed in the meter at
midnight between 31.12. and 01.01.. – This due date can only be changed using hardware
and software from the manufacturer, Kamstrup.
Output measurement:
Standard: Cycle 24 sec.;
Fast: Cycle 4 sec. (recommended areas of use: hot water energy, local district heating
stations)
