Group mode behaviour
If one of the sensor-switched lights detects a movement
and the light level is below the programmed ambient light
threshold, all luminaires within the overall group are taken
to their programmed main light level. If basic lighting is
switched off, the luminaire changes to main light level as
soon as a master light detects movement and the level of
ambient light has fallen below the ambient light-level
threshold.
Parameterisation
Principle
All RS 5800/5850 settings are made via the RC 10 remote
control or Smart Remote. The remote control can be used
for setting any number of lights once they have been
installed. Every valid press of a button is acknowledged

Swarm mode behaviour
When the system is in swarm mode, only those lights
within directly neighbouring sub-groups are taken to main
light level and not all of the group's lights. This provides
the capability of controlling only those lights that are within
the direct radius of the detected movement, leaving all
the main group's other lights switched off or in basic-light-
level mode. In this case, the lighting "tracks" the person
detected.
by the red LED flashing on the sensor, with light dimming
to installation mode to avoid glare.

Reach setting
(factory setting: max)
Pressing these buttons sets the reach to a mini-
mum of 1 m, 1/3, 2/3 to a max. 8 m all round.
Time setting / stay-ON time
2
(factory setting: 5 min.)
By pressing these buttons, the period of time you
want the light to stay ON for after last detecting
movement can be set to 5 min.,
15 min., up to 30 min.
Any chosen light ON time
3
Setting a light ON time of your own choice.
Each press of the button increments the chosen
time setting by 1 minute. (Start at 1 min.)
Twilight setting
4
(Factory setting: daylight mode)
The chosen response threshold can be set from
1 = approx. 10,2 = approx. 30-50, 3 = 300 lux.

7
Teach-IN
Twilight setting is made using the memory
button / teach mode. This button must be
pressed at the level of light below which you want
the sensor to respond to movement from now on.
The current light level value is memorised.
Teach-ALL
The light level is measured for each light
in a group by consecutively pressing the
"Teach" + "send last" buttons.
Test mode
8
The test mode has the purpose of checking for
proper working order as well as for testing the
detection zone. Irrespective of the light level, the
light switches ON for 8 sec in response to
movement. Test mode has priority over all
other settings. Test mode ends automatically

after 10 min. without pressing any button
or re-pressing the "install" button.
Manual override ON/OFF
9
Button toggles between activating the 4 h manual
override (feedback LED flashes 4x) and activating
4
normal mode (feedback LED flashes 2x).

Basic light level all night.
Each light in a group switches its basic
12
light on and off in relation to ambient
brightness.
11
Basic light level / main light level
13
(Factory setting: 10% basic light level, 100%
main light level)
The values selected provide illumination at
0-50% (basic light level) and 50-100%
15
(main light level).
Light is only switched to the selected output
level (for the time set (see 2.)) when movement is
identified in the detection zone. (Upper value =
basic light level, lower value = main light level.
To set the basic light level, select the chosen
level by pressing the button. To set the main
light level, press "set level" and the button with
the chosen level. The last setting to be made is
always the setting that applies.
12
Group behaviour (toggle)
(factory setting: all)
swarm = in the event of movement, only the
sub-groups that are directly adjacent to the
master respond.
all = in the event of movement, all lights in a line
respond.
13
Remote Group Setting (RGS)
The last parameter changed is sent
to the group
The complete set of settings/set of parameters
is sent to the group.
14
Reset
Returns all settings to the factory settings. If you
wish to return the entire system to the factory
settings, press the "send all" button (see 13.)
after resetting the light
15
Sensor sensitivity
If moving objects cause the light to come ON
when you do not want it to, sensor sensitivity
can be reduced gradually by pressing the (–) but-
ton (10 steps) to ignore potential reasons for acti-
vation. The (N) button restores normal sensitivity.
