4733-4734 MULTIFUNCTION THERMOSTATIC REGULATOR FOR DOMESTIC HOT WATER
RECIRCULATION CIRCUITS
DESCRIPTION
The multifunction thermostatic regulator is used to automatically balance the recirculation circuits of domestic hot water distribution
systems, so as to ensure that all sections of the network reach the desired temperature value.
Moreover, it is equipped with a by-pass device to be used in case of thermal disinfection against Legionella.
The thermostatic regulator is available in two versions, depending on the operating mode of the anti-legionella disinfection function:
- completely automatic, by means of a special thermostatic cartridge which activates at about 70 ‹C (art. 4733)
- controlled by an electrothermic actuator managed by a special control unit (art. 4734)

OPERATION
Temperature control
In the domestic hot water distribution circuits, in compliance with the modern
system provisions for the control of Legionella, it is necessary to ensure that all
sections are kept at the correct temperature.
The recirculation network must be balanced, to avoid uneven temperature
distributions.
The thermostatic regulator, inserted in each branch of the recirculation circuit,
maintains the set temperature automatically.
Through the action of a specific internal thermostatic cartridge, it modulates the
fluid flow rate according to the inlet water temperature.
When the water temperature approaches the set value, the shutter progressively
reduces the flow.
In this way the fluid pushed by the recirculation pump is distributed on the other
parts of the network, establishing an effective automatic thermal balancing.
Thermal disinfection:
The multifunction thermostatic regulator is also equipped with the anti-Legionella
thermal disinfection function.
This function is performed by a by-pass device automatically in action when a
temperature of about 70 °C is reached (in the case of the product art. 4733) or
controlled by an electrothermal actuator, managed by a special control unit (in
the case of the product art. 4734).
When the conditions are reached, the by-pass device opens the circuit, regardless
of the action of the temperature/flow regulation cartridge.
MAINTENANCE
Under normal operating conditions, the multifunction thermostatic regulator does not require any maintenance.
It is recommended periodically (at least annually) to check the correct functionality of the system and inspect and clean the filters installed
upstream of the system.
It is possible to disassemble the regulation and thermostatic cartridge and the by-pass control cartridge to clean them.
WATER TEMPERATURES ABOVE 50 °C MAY CAUSE SERIOUS BURNS.
DURING THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE MULTIFUNCTION THERMOSTATIC REGULATOR, TAKE THE NECESSARY
MEASURES SO THAT SUCH TEMPERATURES DO NOT ARISE DANGER FOR PEOPLE.
