UNPACKING THE PRODUCT
Carefully unpack your Rotary Sander and
account for all parts and accessories as outlined
in the manual and check the warranty details.
Check all parts listed in the components and
controls. Retain packaging in case you need to
return the product to your supplier.
A - ATTACHING SANDPAPER
Warning: always disconnect the machine from
the power supply before adjustment, changing
accessories and maintenance.
This is a rotary machine and has a circular pad.
The pad rotates 360° but at the same time has
an eccentric action. This means that the base
does not rotate in a circle but in an elliptical
rotation.
The method of attaching the sanding disc to the
base of the machine is by way of the "hook and
loop system" (1). The surface of the material
covering the machine pad contains the loops.
The surface of the material covering the back of
the sanding disc contains the hooks. This system
allows for ease of changing the sanding disc
and for re-positioning.
Align the extraction holes in the sanding disc
and the base. Simply locate by applying pres-
sure to the sanding disc.
Removal is a simple action. Grip the edge of the
sanding disc and pull until the sanding disc
detaches from the base plate. (2)
B - STARTING AND STOPPING THE
SANDER
Connect the sander into a suitable power outlet
socket. Do not attempt to start with sanding
disc in contact with your work piece. Grip the
rear and front handle, with the fore finger
squeeze the On/Off switch. The motor will start.
To stop simply let go of the On/Off switch (3).
C - PRE-SELECTED VARIABLE SPEED
Incorporated in the On/Off switch is the rotary
electronic variable speed switch (4). Squeeze the
On/Off switch to start the sander. The variable
speed can be changed while the motor is run-
ning but not while the sanding pad is in contact
with the work piece.
Notice the + and - printed on the On/Off
switch. Rotating towards the + will increase the
speed (5). Rotating towards the - will decrease
the speed. Pre select the speed by varying the
rotary dial. Next time you start the machine the
same speed will be selected.
NOTE: The speed does not vary by the amount
the On/Off switch is squeezed
D - CONTINUOUS OPERATION
Once the On/Off switch is squeezed and the
motor is running the continuous operation facil-
ity can be activated (6).
With your thumb press the continuous opera-
tion button, and release the trigger. The sander
will now run continuous.
To stop the machine squeeze the On/Off switch
and release. The continuous operation button
will spring out.
E - DUST EXTRACTION
Located at the rear and to the side of the
machine is the dust extraction outlet (7).
Supplied in the box is a dust collection bag.
Locate into the dust extraction outlet (8). Empty
the bag frequently when in use.
Alternatively attach a suitable hose from a vacu-
um cleaner or extraction device.
F - PRODUCT CARE
Periodically clear all ventilation slots from
obstructions. The Rotary Sander can be cleaned
with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
DO NOT use any chemicals, solvents or abrasive
cleaners. They will damage the surface coating.
DO NOT submerse the unit or sanding discs in
water. ALWAYS refer to the instructions in the
