Never use a battery charger to directly start the engine.
Use only a fully charged battery properly installed.
Never charge the battery with the NEGATIVE (-) black cable
attached to the battery terminal. Keep the loose black cable
away from the battery.
Make sure the ignition is OFF and the starter insert is

removed.
Charge battery according to the instructions provided

by the charger manufacturer.
After charging attach positive (+) cable (red) fi rst.

Cover (+) terminal with boot (red).

Attach negative (-) cable (black).

Wash hands after handling.

Install the Seat
Install hardware.

Attach the harness.

Install the Steering Wheel
Straighten front tires foward.

Orient steering wheel center spoke towards seat.

Hand start nut then tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).

Roll the Tractor off Crate
Place deck in Transport Position (if equipped) OR

Place deck in HIGHEST Height of Cut Position.
Release the parking brake.

Unlock roll release lever (two options).

WARNING
With the help of another person, carefully guide

tractor off back of crate.
Lock roll release lever.

Check the Tire Pressure
The tires may be over-infl ated for shipment.
WARNING
Over-infl ating tires may cause them to explode
which could result in serious injury.
DO NOT infl ate the tires above the maximum pressure
(stamped on the sidewall of the tires).
Check the Oil Level

Place tractor on a fl at, level surface.

Lift tractor hood and remove dipstick.

With a clean cloth wipe dipstick.

Insert dipstick.

Cutting blades are sharp and can cause injury. Use
heavy protective gloves when handling cutting blades.
Rotate blades side-to-side.

Measure distance from outer tips of blades to ground.

Diff erence between right blade tip (A) and left blade
tip (B) should be less than 3mm (1/8").
Lower the mower deck.

Remove belt cover.
Place the mower deck to the MID-HEIGHT of cut

position.
Adjust as shown until correct measurement is

achieved.
Lower the mower deck.
