The guide bar and the chain are provided separately. To assemble
them together, first unscrew the blocking nut and remove the guide bar
cap. The tightened orifice of the chain has to be in the middle of the
guide. If necessary, adjust the tightened bolt of the chain with the
screw. In order to avoid injuries with the sharp edges, always wear
gloves when assembling, tightening or checking the chain. Before
assembling the guide bar with the chain, check the cut direction of
the teeth! The chain direction is marked with an arrow on the bar (Fig.
4, E). Hold the guide bar vertically with the end aiming upwards and
place the chain, starting at the end of the bar. Then assemble the guide
bar with the chain as follows: Place the chain around the dragging
pinion (Fig. 5) and place the bar with the chain holding it by the end of
the bar between the holding screw of the bar and the fixation bolt. (Fig.
3). Then place the cap, making sure that the bolt fits in the tightened
orifice of the chain and place the blocking nut smoothly pressing with
your hand. Tighten the chain clockwise with the tightening screw and
strongly tighten the blocking nut with the key provided.
Tightening of the chain
Always unplug the chainsaw before carrying out any work on the
chainsaw!.
Wear security gloves!
Make sure that the chain is inside the guide slot of the guide bar.
Loosen the blocking nut, turn the tightening screw of the chain
clockwise until the chain is tightened correctly and tighten the blocking
nut.
Do not tighten the chain too much. When the chain is cold, it is possible
to lift the chain at the middle of the guide bar approximately 5 mm.
When the chain is hot, it will expand and it will loosen and there is
danger that the chain comes off the guide. Tighten it again if necessary.
If the chain is tightened when it is hot, it should be loosened again
when the sawn work has been completed. Otherwise, the contraction
that takes place when the chain gets cold could cause an excessively
high tension. A new chain requires a working period of approximately
0,5 minutes. The chain lubrication is very important at this stage. After
the operation, check the chain tension and tighten it again if necessary.
