Focusing rod
The focusing rod can be installed in hole (7, Fig. 4). The rod can be used
for determining the individual diopter setting on the eyepieces to
compensate for ametropia or instrument myopia. The exact adjustment
of the eyepieces is a prerequisite for good examination results and is
necessary when using a video or photographic camera on a slit lamp or
when using a laser slit lamp.
•
To use the rod, install it in the hole at the axis with the black
observation plane towards the microscope. Push the rod in all the
way.
•
Adjust the slit width to approx. 1 mm and set the illumination angle
to 0° (i.e. slit projector in middle position).
•
Set the magnification to 12x.
•
Set the eyepieces to a high + diopter setting. Look through the
microscope and slowly turn the diopter ring in the - direction until
the image is sharply focused.
Note
The eyepieces can be adjusted even more exactly using the
optional eyepiece reticles.
Fixation lamp
The fixation lamp is the lamp on which the non-examined eye of the
patient can be fixed. The lamp can be mounted to the headrest using
the connector (3, Fig. 4) and the cap nut (3, Fig. 8).
The cable of the fixation lamp (12, Fig. 4) is connected to the power
supply (4, Fig. 6).
Cover (1, Fig. 8) produces defined luminous fixation light spots of
lamp/diode (2, Fig. 8).
Caution
Only use the appropriate special incandescent bulbs/blinking diodes.
