Operating area and operating conditions
ForSIL-applications, observe the "Safety Manual Polytron
Observe the specifications and restrictions in the Instructions for Use and/
or data sheets for the sensors.
Not tested in oxygen enriched atmospheres (> 21 % O
Using the product in hazardous areas: Instruments or components for use in
explosion-hazard areas which have been tested and approved according to
national, European, or international explosion protection regulations may
only be used under the conditions specified in the approval and with
consideration of the relevant legal regulations.
For use in hazardous areas, comply with the information on the approval

Commissioning
Before commissioning the device, Dräger recommends a span calibration
with the target gas at the place of use.
If the target gas is not available, a substitute gas may be used.
Mechanical installation
Observe local, state, and national regulations for the installation of gas
detection systems.
Consider the following for the installation location:
–
Physical properties of the gases or vapors to be measured and the
details of the particular application (e.g., proximity to possible leakage,
air movements/flows, expected spread of the gas or vapor cloud, etc.)
–
Future use of accessories and maintenance equipment
–
Vertical orientation of the device (antenna points upwards)
–
Free gas or vapor inflow to the sensor
–
A sufficient radio signal for reliable measured value transmission
If this is not possible with the standard antenna, use a remote antenna.
–
No direct sunlight that causes the temperature to rise above the
specified limit values.
Dräger recommends the weather protection kit (accessory).
