Operating Instructions
Insert Battery
1. In the back of the unit, undo the retaining screw and remove the
battery compartment cover – use a sliding motion to disengage the
cover.
2. Connect 9V battery to the correct terminals.
3. Insert connected battery into the compartment.
4. Replace the cover and secure with the retaining screw.
AC Current Measurement
IMPORTANT: Make sure that all test leads are disconnected from instrument
terminals
1. Make sure the Data Hold Switch (3) is not pressed.
2. If the display indicates one or more leading zeros, shift to the 200A
range to improve the resolution of the measurement.
3. Press the lever to open the transformer jaws and clamp one conductor
ONLY. It is impossible to make measurements when two or three
conductors are clamped at the same time.
AC Voltage Measurement
1. Set Rotary Switch (4) to the V~600 position.
2. Insert the red lead into the V,
to the COM Input Connector (8).
3. Connect the probes to the circuit under test and take the reading.
DC Voltage Measurement
1. Set Rotary Switch (4) to the V
2. Insert the red lead into the V,
to the COM Input Connector (8).
3. Connect the probes to the circuit under test and take the reading.
Resistance Measurement & Continuity Check
WARNING: Make sure there is no residual voltage in the circuit of
components being measured
1. Set Rotary Switch (4) to the
2. Insert the red lead into the V,
to the COM input connector (8).
3. With the test leads open, Display (5) should indicate an over range
condition.
4. Hold the test probes together to make sure that the display reads zero
and that the buzzer will sound.
5. Connect test leads to the circuit to be tested and take the resistance
reading.
6. If the resistance measured is less than 40
indicating continuity check.
