3. Maintenance and inspection of
installed backflow preventers
3.1 Testing kit
In
accordance
with
statutory regulations, BA backflow
preventers
must
be
inspected (once a year in most
countries)
by
an
authorised
maintenance technician.
BA backflow preventers must
undergo compulsory annual testing
using test equipment conforming
to NF P43-018, such Watts or
equivalent (ref. 2234900M2).

3.2 Instructions for fitting/removal for maintenance purposes
Removal
A- Remove the cover (3) by unscrewing the screws (4).
B- Remove the spacer (5).
C- Remove the upstream valve (6).
D- Remove the relief valve module (8), using the M10 bolt
supplied in the kit.
E- Remove the downstream valve (7).

3.3 Refitting instructions
Check and lightly re-grease the O-rings
• Install the downstream valve (7) in its seat in the main body (1)
• Install the relief valve module (8) in its seat in the relief body (2)
• Install the upstream valve (6) in its seat in the main body (1)
and arrange the fins at 45°
• Position the inner spacer (5) between the upstream and
downstream valves (6 and 7) and above the relief valve
assembly (8). There is only one possible position
• Fit the cover (3) and tighten the screws (4)
