To Retighten a Loose Chuck
The chuck may become loose on the spindle and develop a wobble. Also, the chuck screw
may become loose, causing the chuck jaws to bind and prevent them from closing.
To tighten a loose chuck or chuck screw:
a. Lock the variable-speed trigger switch by placing the direction-of-rotation selector in the
center position. And set the torque-adjustment ring at Drill mode
battery.
b. Open the chuck jaws.
c. Insert a hex key (not included) into the chuck and tighten the chuck jaws securely. Tap the
hex key sharply with a mallet (not included) in a clockwise direction. This will tighten the
chuck on the spindle.
d. Open the chuck jaws and remove the hex key.
e. Use a Philips screwdriver (not included) to turn the chuck screw counterclockwise to tighten
it.
