Equalization
The aSK speakers are design to perfectly reproduce all audio
signals as sent by your amplifier or powered mixer. As such, your
equalization efforts do not need to take speaker response into ac-
count, rather your main concentration should be on the acoustics
of the venue. If equalization is applied, it should be done so with
the utmost of case. Applying overly harsh equalization can be
detrimental to your overall sound.
Connection
The aSK speakers offer ¼" TRS phone jack speaker connectors on
the rear of the speaker. The input connectors on each unit should
be connected to an appropriate output device such as a power
amplifier or powered mixer. Phone jack connectors do not need
to be soldered into place; rather they are pushed into the socket
to lock into place. Do not remove the connector until all gear is
switched off. The output or thru connector can be used to run two
(or more) speakers in parallel.
Connections
The aSK passive loudspeakers all feature TS connectors for
speaker input and link/thru outputs. Input is received on pin 1 of
the aSK's input jacks, while the signal is sent directly through to
the "thru" outputs. On the aSK 2-Way models, the "In" and "Thru"
jacks are interchangeable. This means that either connector can
be used as an input, and the other is then used as the "Thru" jack.
These "Thru" outputs allow the speakers to share the power from
a single amplifier. In this event, the total speaker amperage should
be halved. For example, two 8 ohm aSK speakers will lower the
amperage to 4 ohms. This means the amplifier that powers the
speaker should be able to offer 4 ohm operation.

Impedances
With exception to the aSK215 and aSK18SB, the nominal imped-
ance of the aSK speakers is 8Ω. This means that a single aSK
speaker can be used with an amplifier channel that can run down
to 8Ω. Similarly, two speakers can be used with an amplifier that
can run at 4Ω per channel and four speakers can be used with an
amplifier that can run at impedances of 2Ω (check the amplifier's
recommended operation before doing so).The nominal impedance
of the aSK215 and aSK18SB is 4 ohms and thus a single unit can
be used with an amplifier that runs down to 4 ohms per channel.
Operation
When making a connection, be sure to turn off the amplifier that
you are connecting to. Use only properly wired ¼" TRS cables
with the aSK speakers as to maximize the potential of your setup.
Once connections are made, turn the amplifier on with all channels
set to the zero position. Be sure not to drive the amplifier to the
point of overload or clipping for any length of time as to ensure
the integrity of the speaker.
High Pass / Thru (aSK18SB)
The aSK18SB features an independent "thru" port that allows the
input signal to pass through in its entirety to additional passive
speakers to share the power of the connected amplifier. Users can
also apply a high pass filter to the outgoing signal by switching the
"High Pass / Thru" switch to the high pass position. The subwoofer
itself has an internal low-pass filter permanently activated. This
ensures that only low-frequency signals are passed through to
the subwoofer, creating deeper and more lush bass while also
protecting the subwoofer itself.
