3- INSTALLATION OF THE EQUIPMENT
There are other parameters which should be considered for the correct
operati on of the salt water chlorinator. We recommend an in-depth
analysis of the water when installing a salt water chlorinator.
Parameter
PH
FREE CHLORINE (mg/l)
COMBINED CHLORINE (mg/l)
TOTAL BROMIDE (mg/l)
BIGUANIDE (mg/l)
ISOCYANURIC ACID (mg/l)
OZONE (GLASS) (mg/l)
OZONE (before)
TURBIDITY (NTU)
OXIDES (mg/l)
NITRATES (mg/l)
AMMONIA (mg/l)
IRON (mg/l)
COPPER (mg/l)
ALKALINITY (mg/l)
CONDUCTIVITY (us/cm)
TDS (mg/l)
HARDNESS (mg/l)
3.1- General considerations:
• Place the chlorine cell in a verti cal positi on with electrical connecti ons facing
upwards. If this is not possible, it can be assembled in a horizontal positi on,
ensuring that the small auxiliary electrode faces upwards.
• Place the chlorinati on cell in the highest positi on possible of the purifi cati on
circuit and always aft er the fi lter.
• If possible, it is recommended to install the cell with a by-pass system with its
corresponding shut-off valves. This is to facilitate maintenance of the cell.
• Do not place the REDOX probe (OPTIONAL) near the chlorinator cell, as faulty
readings could be made owing to the proximity of the electrolysis circuit.
Always try and ensure that the fi lter is between both and that there is at least
half a metre of water fl ow between the probe and the chlorinati on cell.
The REDOX probe should be installed aft er the fi lter, but if with this layout it is not
possible to keep a minimum distance from the cell, it should be
assembled before the fi lter. In this case more frequent maintenance of the probe
is required (see paragraph 5.2 below in "Maintenance").
• A good earth connecti on is essenti al. Use a diff erenti al relay with max. 30mA of
sensiti vity.
If a good quality earth connecti on is not available, place an earth
connecti on kit between the electrolysis cell and the redox probe.
