12. To switch off the appliance, disconnect it from the mains (6).

Note: During operation, an integrated thermostat switches the appliance on and off to ensure a constant
temperature. This is indicated by the green indicator light (2) cycling on and off.

• Fill batter into waffle maker quickly to produce evenly brown waffles.
• Place waffles on a cake rack to keep them crispy. Stacked waffles get soggy easily.
Belgian Waffles (Gaufres de Liège)
Ingredients:

Preparation:
combine the wheat flour, dry yeast, salt and sugar, properly. Add the eggs, butter and core of the vanilla
bean. Stir in the lukewarm milk until the batter is smooth.
In order for the dough to rise, leave it to rest for approx. 45 minutes.
Before starting the baking process knead in the coarse sugar. Preheat the appliance and bake small
amounts of the batter for approx. 5 – 10 minutes.
Delicious!
If you prefer them with a chocolate icing, just dip half of the waffle into melted chocolate. Yum!
Basic recipe
Ingredients:
80 g
butter
60 g
sugar

eggs
3/8 l
milk
300 g
flour

teaspoons of baking powder
Rum to your taste
Icing sugar
Preparation:
Mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs until smooth. Alternatively, add flour/baking powder mix and
milk.
Add less milk and some rum instead, according to taste. However, be careful when adding liquid, as batter
should not be too thin.
Bake waffles following the above instructions.
Dust with icing sugar before serving.
