3 Applications
This compact PA system is designed for profes-
sional PA applications of up to 500 W . It features
a subwoofer cabinet with an integrated 3-chan-
nel power amplifier, an integrated 3-channel
mixer and two satellite speakers . The satellite
speakers perfectly match the subwoofer and
can be stowed in the subwoofer cabinet for
transport . Thus, the system is ideally suited for
mobile applications . Two speaker cables (4 .5 m)
and two stands for the satellite speakers are
included .
4 Setting the Audio System
into Operation

4.1 Setting up the PA system

1) Loosen the two locking screws (1) for the
satellite speakers and remove the speakers
from the subwoofer cabinet .
2) Set up the satellite speakers, depending on
the operating mode:
For the stereo mode, mount the satellite
speakers onto the stands supplied . However,
it is also possible to use two TRITON-350
systems switched to mono mode for the left
and right stereo channels .
For the mono mode, combine the two sat-
ellite speakers and then either directly attach
them onto the subwoofer cabinet
Fig. 3 Satellite speaker directly attached
or insert a rod of the stands supplied as a
spacer .
Notes:
1 . To provide optimum sound, the satellite speak-
ers should be at ear level of the audience .
2 . In the stereo mode, it is not necessary for the
subwoofer cabinet to be exactly in the middle
between the satellite speakers because the low
frequencies radiated by the subwoofer cannot
be exactly located .
4.2 Connecting the signal sources
and the speaker systems
Prior to making or changing any connections,
switch off the TRITON-350 and the units to be
connected .
Caution! Lay all connection cables in such a
way that they do not create a trip hazard . If re-
quired, use cable protectors (e . g . items CB-...)
and/or specific tapes (gaffa tapes, e . g . items
AT-169, AT-201, AT-202) .
1) When the satellite speakers are directly
attached onto the subwoofer cabinet, the
electrical connection will automatically be
established . Otherwise, use the connection
cables supplied to connect the speakers to
the subwoofer cabinet:
For the stereo mode, connect the left
speaker to the jack LEFT (16) and the right
speaker to the jack RIGHT (21) . Set the
switch MODE SELECT (10) to the position
For the mono mode, use the connection
cable supplied to connect one of the two
jacks of the combined satellite speakers to
the jack LEFT (16) . Set the switch MODE
SELECT (10) to the position .
2) Microphones can be connected to the
input jacks of the channels CH 1 (11) and
CH 2 (12) . Set the corresponding selector
switch MIC/LINE (4) to the position MIC .
3) For audio units with line level (e . g . MP3/
CD player, radio, mixer), the following input
jacks are available:
CH 1 (11) for mono signals
CH 2 (12) for stereo signals
CH 3 (5 and 13) for stereo signals; the RCA
jacks (13) will be switched off when the
3 .5 mm jack CH (5) is connected .
For the channels CH 1 and CH 2, set the cor-
responding selector switch MIC/LINE (4) to
the position LINE .
4) The output jacks OUT (14) can be used to
route the mixed signal [switch (9) in position
MIX OUT] to a recorder or to another active
speaker system . To route the input signal of
channel CH 2 only, set the switch (9) to the
position CH2/ THRU .
5) For PA applications in a larger zone, another
active speaker system is required: The
jacks LINK IN/OUT (15) of two TRITON-350
can be combined, for example . The first TRI-
TON will serve as the signal source for the
second TRITON . At the second TRITON, set
all controls GAIN (8) to MIN; the volume will
be determined by the first TRITON .
6) For power supply, use the mains cable
supplied to connect the mains jack 230 V~
(20) to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz) .
5 Operating the Audio System
1) To prevent the initial volume from being
too high, set the three controls GAIN (8) to
MIN before switching on the active speaker
system .
2) Switch on the system with the switch POWER
(17) . The LED ON/LIMIT (3) will light up .
3) Use the volume controls GAIN to mix the sig-
nals of the inputs or to fade them in and out .
CAUTION Never adjust the speaker sys-
tem to a very high volume .
Permanent high volumes
may damage your hearing!
Your ear will get accustomed to high vol-
umes which do not seem to be that high
after some time . Therefore, do not further in-
crease a high volume after getting used to it .
Caution: If there is feedback during microphone
operation, increase the distance between the
speaker and the microphone and /or turn back the
control GAIN of the corresponding microphone
accordingly .
Note: When the LED ON /LIMIT (3) lights up in
red, the limiter will reduce the volume to protect
the speakers . To retain the original dynamics of
the signal, use the corresponding control GAIN
to reduce the volume to such a level that the LED
lights up in blue only .
4) Use the control SUB (6) to adjust the desired
strength of the low frequencies that are ra-
.
diated by the subwoofer .
5) In the stereo mode, adjust the balance
for the satellite speakers with the control
BAL (7) .
6) Use the control EFFECT (2) of each input
channel to adapt the sound to the room
acoustics .
