10.Position fixture so that the bulb replacement markings are visible during
normal bulb replacement procedure.
11.Turn fixture off/unplug and allow to cool before replacing bulb.
12.Handle bulb(s) with care during replacing. The glass tube of the bulb is very
fragile and can break easily.
13.Use only with a linear fluorescent bulb: F15T8.
14.Use only insulted staples or plastic ties to secure the power or linking cords.
15.The National Electrical Code (NEC) does not permit cords to be concealed
where damage to insulation may go unnoticed. To prevent fire danger, do
not run cord behind walls, ceilings, soffits, cabinets, or a similiar permanent
structure where it may be inaccessible for examination. Cords should be
visually examined periodically and immediately replaced when any damge is
noted.
16.Do not use an extension cord. Use power strip with integral overcurrent
protection to supply power to the fixture.
IMPORTANT: Fluorescent bulbs are included with your fixture. In order to
protect the bulb during shipment, your bulb(s) may be packed in a separate
area of the packing materials. Additonally, your bulbs may already be placed
into their respective sockets, but may have a protective support collar slipped
over the bulb. Do NOT operate your fixture with this support collar in place. You
can either cut this collar off or remove the bulb from the sockets and slide the
support collar off the bulb. Discard the support collar.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference,
and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference
that may cause undesired operation. Before installation, plug in fixture to a
120V 60Hz electrical outlet to check for proper operation. Then, unplug and
begin the installation.
FIXTURE INSTALLATION
1
Remove diffuser (C) by pressing in the sides
of diffuser at the tabs and lifting up (Fig. 1).
2
Remove the bulb from the fixture (A) by
placing your thumbs on the metal ends of
the bulb. While applying slight pressure on
the bulb, roll the bulb toward you until the
contact pins on the ends of the bulb
disengage from the socket. Pull the bulb
straight out from the socket (Fig. 2). You
may want to put the bulb(s) in a safe place
until your assembly is complete.
3
Place fixture up to mounting surface and
mark position of the narrow end of the
keyslot holes on the mounting surface
with a pencil (Fig. 3). The screw hole
locations must be exact for the fixture to
mount properly.
4
Drill a 1/16 in. pilot hole into the marked
screw locations. You can also use an awl
or nail to dimple the screw holes. Start
the screws (B), but do not tighten fully.
Slide the fixture over until the narrow legs
of the keyhole slots are under the heads
of the screws (Fig. 4). Finish tightening
the screws until they are firmly seated and
the fixture is tightly secured to the
mounting surface.
5
Install the bulbs into the sockets by
aligning the pins of the bulb with the slot in
the sockets (Fig. 5). Using your thumbs
and forefinger, press the metal ends of the
bulb socket and roll the bulb forward until it
rotates 90 degrees inside the socket,
making contact between the bulb pins and
the socket contacts (Fig. 6).
6
Replace diffuser by aligning pins with the
slots pressing in the sides of diffuser at
the tabs and pushing up until the pins lock
in place (Fig. 7).
7
Once the fixture is in place, route your power
cord to the closest outlet. Plug it in and turn
on power switch.
