Safety instructions for cordless
cultivators
General notes
Read the operating manual carefully. Familia-
rise yourself with the control devices and the
correct use of the appliance.
Never allow children or people lacking the
necessary knowledge of these operating in-
structions to use the machine. Inexperienced
operating personnel must be instructed and
trained in the operation of the appliance.
Local regulations may specify the minimum
age of the user.
Never work with the cultivator when other
persons, particularly children or animals, are
in the vicinity. Switch off the cultivator if per-
sons or animals approach.
The user is responsible for accidents involv-
ing other people and damage to their proper-
ty.
Comply with any country-specific regulations
or regulations on the operating hours of the
machine.
Do not allow children and adolescents to play
with the cultivator.
Preparatory measures
Always wear sturdy shoes (safety shoes) and
long trousers when working with the ma-
chine. Do not use the appliance when bare-
foot or wearing light sandals.
Completely check the entire area on which
the machine will be used and remove any
stones, sticks, pieces of glass and metal,
wires, toys, bones and other foreign objects
which could be scooped up and flung out.
Before using the machine, always check that
the cultivator blades, fastening bolts and the
entire cultivator unit are not worn or dam-
aged.
Never operate the cultivator with worn or de-
fective parts. Worn or defective parts can
cause serious injuries.
Replace worn or damaged parts (cultivator
blades, fastening bolts) only in sets to avoid
any imbalance.
Handling
Work only during daylight hours or with good
artificial lighting.
Make sure you are standing safely, particu-
larly on slopes.

Only operate the appliance on solid and level
ground and not on sharp inclines.
The appliance should not be used on rocky
terrain. Stones could be thrown out and the
cultivator blades damaged.
Always work across the slope. Do not oper-
ate the appliance up or down the slope, or on
slopes with a gradient of more than 10°.
Work with the machine only at walking pace.
Switch on the machine as described in the
operating instructions and take care to keep
your feet well away from the cultivator
blades.
Take care that your hands and feet do not
come into the vicinity of or under the rotating
parts.
Never lift or carry the machine with the motor
running!
Always switch off the cultivator when it is not
needed, e.g. when changing the work area,
when leaving the machine for a short time or
during maintenance and care work.
Immediately switch off the cultivator if there is
an accident in order to avoid further injuries
and/or property damage.
Maintenance and storage
Always make sure that all nuts, bolts and
screws are tight and that the machine is in a
safe working condition.
For safety reasons, replace any worn or dam-
aged parts. Only use genuine spare parts
and genuine accessories.
Keep the cultivator out of the reach of children.

Vibration load

Danger due to vibration
The actual magnitude of the vibration emis-
sions during the use of the appliance may de-
viate from that stated by the manufacturer.
Observe the following influencing factors be-
fore or during use:
Is the appliance being used as intended?
Is the material being cut or processed in
the proper manner?
Is the appliance in a proper condition of
use?
Is the cutting tool properly sharpened or
is the correct cutting tool installed?
Are the handle grips and any optional vi-
bration grips mounted, and are they firm-
ly attached to the appliance?
