Wiring of trigger inputs and outputs
Depending on the peripherals to be connected,
the connection work may need to be carried out
by an electrical specialist.
Example: SELV exceeded.
NOTICE
Danger of damage to the product and the connected
devices caused by overvoltage!
Do not engage or disengage the trigger lines while
under power.
Check the trigger connections for correct wiring.
The wiring of the trigger inputs and outputs depends
on the customer's peripherals (see manufacturer's
documentation).
The GND pins of connections X31 or X32 are connected to
GND in the product and with the encoder connections.
A trigger is triggered at each edge from LOW to HIGH.

Recommendation
The external trigger source should address the product
via differential signals. If the application requires single-
ended signals for addressing the product, the sensitivity
to interference increases, since the EMC guidelines under
which the product was tested are not maintained.
In this case, we recommend using 5 V TTL signals for
addressing the product and wiring the differential signals as
follows:
Do not wire the vacant input and switch off the
terminating resistor.
Use U
for the trigger upon positive edges.
Trigger,In+
Use U
for the trigger upon negative edges.

External trigger inputs X31
Four independent differential inputs for the triggering of
trigger events are supported.
120 Ω terminating resistors can be connected.
For pin layout according to RS-485, see "M".
External trigger outputs X32
Four independent differential outputs with individual
assignment to internal trigger sources of the product are
supported.
For pin layout according to RS-485, see "N".

Connecting a computer
A computer can be connected to the Ethernet port X4.
For information on the location of the connections, see
"Rear panel", page 26.
For information on the technical requirements, see
"Specifications", page 35. TCP/IP and UDP protocols are
required for communication.
Connect the Ethernet port of the computer to
connection X4 using an Ethernet cable.
WARNING
The connection between the product and the PC may be
established or broken even while the product is switched
on.
For pin layout of X4, see "O".
Standard settings for the network parameters
Default address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP client: Deactivated;
the duration of the boot phase may change if DHCP is
activated
The maximum time between "power-up" and "ready for
communication" is approx. 60 seconds. After updating
the software/firmware, the occurrence of errors or during
factory boot, the start-up time can take significantly longer.
The network address of the product can be assigned
automatically via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol) or set manually. The DHCP configuration for the
product is described in the "User's Manual for Application
Development," see "Notes on reading the documentation",
page 21.
