VACOpedes Diabetic
How to use (instruction video can be found at app.oped.de or app.oped.ch)
Fitting the VACOpedes Diabetic
Pull the valve ring upwards (details can be found in "Valve functions") to allow air to flow
in
(Figure
3). If the small spheres in the liner
smooth. Place your foot in the fabric liner
the way back in the lower shell
(Figure
slightly upwards
(Figure
7). Fit the upper shell
between the lower shell and the liner. Close the straps by hand and as the pain allows (see
graphic for sequence)
(Figure
10). When fitting the upper shell, ensure that the valve is not
kinked. The upper shell should not be positioned against or over the valve.
Adjusting and securing the vacuum cushion
Readjustable vacuum cushion: Inside the liner, there is a cushion containing thousands
of small spheres
(Figure 11)
which adapt perfectly to the anatomy and any swelling of
your foot. Pressure-sensitive areas and swellings can be relieved through the targeted
redistribution of these small spheres. To ensure that the spheres do not slide around inside
the cushion, the air is extracted via the valve using a suction pump, creating a vacuum
(Figure
12).
Valve functions
Open the valve / softens the vacuum cushion:
Pull the valve ring upwards and move it to the side to allow air to flow in
slide the valve ring back to its original position.
Close the vacuum / hardens the vacuum cushion:
Push the valve ring downwards. Attach the suction pump and squeeze it (approx. 7-8 times)
until it no longer inflates. Squeezing the pump removes air from the cushion and creates
a vacuum. This fixes the adapted fit in place
(Figure
14).
Closing the valve cap
Push the valve ring downwards and close the valve cap. This sets the vacuum
Changing the cushion liner
Note: The replacement liner does not contain a cushion! When changing the liner, the cushion
must be removed from the used liner and inserted into the new one!
Open the rear zip fastener all the way and remove the vacuum cushion from the used
liner. Open the valve and shake out the cushion so that the small spheres can redistribute
themselves (see Valve functions). Establish the vacuum (see Valve functions), place the
vacuum cushion in the new liner and slide the valve through the button hole

(Figure 4)
have grouped together, stroke them
(Figure 4)
and position it with the fabric liner all
5). Then close the fabric liner
(Figure
6). Pull the liner
(Figure
8). Slide the tabs on the upper shell
(Figure
(Figure
13). To finish, close the valve cap

Fitting and changing the sole
Removing the sole
Push both unlocking buttons simultaneously
Fitting the sole
Position the VACOpedes Diabetic straight and centred on the sole before pushing it against
the sole (you will hear two clicks)
Adjusting the sole length
Remove the sole (see Removing the sole) and push the unlocking button. Pull the toe section
to the desired length

Pressure points / problem-solving
Remove the orthosis from your foot. Pull the valve ring to allow air to flow into the cushion.
Spread the cushion filling evenly at the pressure point. Re-fit the orthosis (see How to
use). Using a finger, check that there are enough small spheres in the cushion between the
pressure point and the outer lower shell.
3). Then
Showering / washing
You can shower with the product if your doctor has given you permission to do so. The
orthosis, especially the cover, must be protected from water (e.g. by a shower protector)
if you do so.
Sleeping
Before you go to sleep, place a towel, such as a hand towel, underneath the device so that
the bed sheets are not damaged.
Sizes
14).
The product can be worn on the left or right. Recommendation: At the size interfaces
between the Small/Medium and Medium/Large versions, supply the smaller VACOpedes
Diabetic size if possible. For the Small/Medium product size, use strap M.
