Installation
The + 24 Vdc power supply to be used with STO90 must comply with the low voltage directive
2014/35/EC, applying the specifications:
PELV (protective extra-low voltage), according to IEC 60204-1.
SELV (safety extra-low voltage), according to IEC 62368-1.
NOTE!
The control accessories of CFW900 provide a +24 Vdc power supply, which can
be used to feed STO90.
For example, connector XC1 of CFW900-IOS (standard I/O accessory) provides a
source of +24 Vdc conveniently located next to connector XC2 for the safety signals.
Table 2.2 on page 14

connection of the safety related cables to connector XC2 For XC7 cabling, consider the following:

NOTE!
Control cables must be shielded and, when longer than 30 m, the shield must
be grounded at both ends. Moreover, power cables must be separated from the
remaining cables according to the specifications of the user's manual.
2.2 TYPES OF INSTALLATION
There are two types of installation, depending on the type of the safety device that requests
the safety function:
Installation with dry contact devices, i.e. devices that have electromechanical contact output
(e.g. emergency buttons).
Installation with OSSDs (Output Signal Switching Devices), i.e. solid-state electronic devices
that have outputs containing test pulses (e.g. light curtains).
Figure 2.2 on page 14
illustrates the installation with dry contacts, and
describes its operation.
