IV. WHEELCHAIR USE & CONFIGURATION
Z. Anti-Tips (Continued)
3. Adjusting the Anti-Tip Angle
In most cases, the angle of the anti-tip correlates to the axle plate angle.
a. Use a 3mm Allen wrench and an 8mm wrench or socket to remove the angle adjustment
screw and nut (Fig. 42:C).
b. When the axle bar angle is in Position A, hole D in the anti-tip should be aligned with hole
G in the axle plate. Holes G, H and J are labeled on the endmost hole of the axle plate for
clarity, but the corresponding hole under the anti-tip should be used in whatever position
the anti-tip is in.
c. For axle plate position B, hole E in the anti-tip should be aligned with hole H in the axle
plate and for axle plate position C, hole F in the anti-tip should be aligned with hole J in the
axle plate.
d. After retightening the screws and nuts, repeat on opposite side of chair ensuring both
sides are set identically.
4. Adjusting the Anti-Tip Height
a. Use a 4mm Allen wrench and a 10mm wrench or socket and remove the extension screw
and nut (Fig. 42:I).
b. Align the extension tube hole with the anti-tip hole that achieves the desired anti-tip
height.
c. Retighten the extension screw and nut and repeat for the opposite side of the chair.
