5. PUTTING INTO OPERATION / FUNCTIONAL TEST
On applying the supply voltage, a functional test is carried out. The alarm state is then trigge-
red for some 2-3 minutes until the sensor has reached the required operating temperature.
The alarm must be acknowledged by pressing the "RESET" button.
For the functional test of the sensor, please note the operational instructions of the sen-
sor you are using!
Note: the functional test will also be triggered by a moderately prolonged loss of power.
For your own safety, we recommend that you carry out this test constantly!
5.1 Alarm
As soon as the gas concentration exceeds the value by 1 %, a pre-alarm is triggered and a
signal tone sounds every 30 seconds. If the gas concentration threshold value is exceeded
by 2.5 %, the alarm unit emits an acoustic or optical alarm (red alarm LED flashes); at the
same time, the relay is actuated.
The alarm stays and the relay is switched on, until the message is removed by pushing the
<RESET> button.
5.2 What to do in case of alarmor if you smell gas
Please note the operating instructions of the sensor you are using!
5.3 Fals alarm
The monitoring system is, in line with its purpose, set to a very high sensitivity. The sensitive
system sensor also responds to other gaseous media. The use of aerosols (gas propellant in
hair, disinfectant, alcohol etc. sprays), as well as strong tobacco fumes (smoking card party)
can lead to a false alarm.
Cable damage or a defect sensor can also trigger a false alarm.
Since we do not have the required test gases available, we give you the concentrations for
the gas sensors as calculated from the data sheet diagrams (see operating instructions
of the sensor). The minimum concentrations take account of component tolerances and the
influence of temperature.
5.4 Maintenance
After 50 weeks of operating time, the device will prompt you to perform a function test (see
START-UP/FUNCTION TEST).
After 260 weeks, you will be prompted to check the functioning of the device and, if applicable,
replace the sensor.
► By pressing the buttons <SERVICE> and <RESET> simultaneously for 5 seconds, you
acknowledge the function test and/or the potential replacement of the sensor.
► Status query function test: Press the <SERVICE> button once
► Status query sensor: Press the <SERVICE> button 3 times
