4. Close the lid. Always make sure that the lid is firmly
closed.
5. Place the kettle flush on the base.
6. Switch on the appliance with the switch. The control
lamp lights up.
Interrupting / Ending Operation
There are two ways to interrupt or end the cooking process:
1. The appliance switches off automatically after the cook-
ing process. The control lamp goes out.
2. To end or interrupt the cooking cycle prematurely, set the
switch to the O position.
- Always switch off the appliance before removing
it from the base! The contacts on the base are not
suitable for disconnecting the power supply.
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off when you
put it back on the base!
WARNING:
• Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug
from the socket before cleaning. Wait until the appliance has
cooled down.
• Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water or other liq-
uids. It could cause an electric shock or fire.
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Rinse the water reservoir with clean water. Dry it with a
cloth.
• Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth after use.
Filter
A permanent filter is located at the spout opening. To clean
the filter, press down the tab on the filter and pull out the
filter.
• Rinse it under running water. You can use a nylon brush
to help.
• Replace the filter. When doing so, pay attention to the
guide inside the water kettle.

• Unplug the mains plug from the socket.
• Empty the water container.
- Only hold the appliance by the handle.
- Keep the lid closed when pouring out.
- Open the lid only with the button on the handle.
• The appliance becomes hot during operation, do not
touch it and allow the appliance to cool down before
putting it away.
Cleaning
• The intervals for descaling depend on the hardness of
the water and the frequency of use.
• If the appliance switches off before the water boils,
descaling is necessary.
• Do not use vinegar, but a commercially available des-
caling agent based on citric acid. Dose according to the
instructions.
• After descaling, boil fresh water several times (approx.
3 to 4 times) to remove residues. Do not use this water
for consumption.
• Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry
completely.
• We recommend storing the appliance in its original
packaging if you do not intend to use it for a long period
of time.
• Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in
a well-ventilated and dry place.
