Place the handle assembly in position between the handle
mounting brackets.
3.
Line up the holes in the handle with the holes in the bracket and
secure with the hardware previously removed.
ATTACHINg THE SHIFT ROD
1.
Make sure the handle assembly is in the highest position. Refer to
the Operation Section.
2.
Remove the hairpin clip, rubber washer, flat washer and T-knob from
the control rod and put the rubber washer in place. See Figure 4.

3.
Slide the shift rod up through the upper handle assembly, insert
the lower end of the shift rod into the indicator bracket and secure
with the previously removed hardware. See Figure 4.
ATTACHINg THE HANDLE SWIVEL ROD
1.
Make sure the handle assembly is in the highest position. Refer to
the Operation Section.
2.
Remove the cotter pin and T-knob from the handle swivel rod.
See Figure 5.

Slide the handle swivel rod through the upper handle assembly,
insert the lower end of the rod into the swing handle link and
secure with the previously removed hardware. See Figure 5.
ATTACHINg THE CLUTCH CABLE
1.
Loosen the upper nut on the cable and slide the nut and washer
off the adjustable fitting. See Figure 6.

Slide the cable into the cable bracket as shown in Figure 6.
3.
Replace the washer and the upper nut on the adjustable fitting
and tighten.
NOTE: Do not overtighten the clutch cable. Too much tension may
cause it to break. Be certain to check the clutch cable adjustment
before operating the tiller.
4.
Insert the cable barrel into the cable barrel holder, insert the
barrel and barrel holder into the clutch handle and secure with the
hex screw. See Figure 7.
