• This manual contains important safety and
operating instructions for battery charger No. BC016.
Do not substitute any other charger.
• Before using battery charger, read all instructions
and cautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2)
battery pack, and (3) product using battery.
• Charge only Bosch rechargeable batteries listed on
page 3, other types of batteries may burst causing
personal injury and damage.
• If battery case is cracked do not insert in charger.
BATTERY SHORT OR FIRE MAY RESULT.
• Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by
Bosch may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or
injury to persons.
• Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp
blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any
way.
• Do not disassemble charger; take it to a Bosch
Factory Service Center, or qualified serviceman when
service is required. Incorrect reassembly may result
in electric shock or fire.
Battery Care
When batteries are not in tool or charger, keep
them away from metal objects. For example, to
protect terminals from shorting DO NOT place

Nickel-cadmium batteries
If equipped with a nickel-cadmium battery, the
battery must be collected, recycled or disposed of
in an environmentally sound manner.

Charger Safety Rules
• Do not operate charger with damaged cord or plug;
have them replaced immediately.
• To reduce risk of electrical shock, unplug charger
from outlet before attempting any maintenance or
cleaning. Turning off controls will not reduce this
risk.
• Do not charge tool in damp or wet environment.
• Do not expose charger to rain or snow.
• Charge battery pack in temperatures above +32°F
(0°C) and below +113°F (45°C). This is important
and will prevent serious damage to the batteries.
• Store tool and battery pack in locations where
temperatures will not exceed 120°F (49°C).
• To reduce risk of damage to electric plug and cord,
pull by plug rather than cord when disconnecting
charger.
• Make sure cord is located so that it will not be
stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to
damage or stress.
