TIPS AND TRICKS

○ Before you cook the rice, rinse it under
cold, clear water to clean it and remove
any starch and bran. This will prevent
the rice from sticking to the bottom of
the cooking vessel during cooking.
○ The optimum rice/water ratio can
vary between rice varieties and also
differ according to taste: Natural rice
varieties (e.g. brown rice, wild rice etc.)
should always be cooked with a little
more water.

The maximum fi ll level is 4 meas-
uring cups of rice and 4 measuring
cups of water.
○ Different varieties of rice have differ-
ent cooking times: Note that natural
rice (e.g. brown rice, wild rice etc.)
has a slightly longer cooking time
than long-grain rice, for example. You
should therefore allow the rice to rest
for slightly longer after the cooking pro-
cess and if necessary test whether the
grains of rice are fully cooked through.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Please Note!
■ Do not use any sharp or abrasive
cleaning agents or cleaning pads to
clean the device. These may damage
the surfaces.
○ Wipe down the housing of the rice
cooker (7) with a damp cloth if neces-
sary.
○ Clean the accessories with warm water
and detergent or in the dishwasher.
○ Keep the device ready to operate and
check it regularly for any damage.

STORAGE
Disconnect the connecting cable from the
mains power when the device is not going
to be used for a prolonged period.
Store the device in a dry, clean, frost-free
place that is protected from direct sunlight
and cannot be accessed by children or
animals.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the problem cannot be solved with the
steps below, contact the customer service
department.
Do not attempt to repair an electri-
cal device yourself!
The device cannot be switched on.
The mains plug is not inserted in the plug
socket correctly.
► Correct the fit of the mains plug.
The plug socket is defective.
► Try another plug socket.
There is no mains voltage.
► Check the fuse of the mains connec-
tion.
The device switches off after a few
seconds.
The device was switched on without any
water in it. The dry-running protection has
been activated.
► Allow the device to cool down for
approx. 5 – 10 minutes before water
is poured in and the device is used
again.
The device does not switch off auto-
matically.
The keep-warm function is still activated.
► Touch the ON / OFF field (13).
