2.2. Personal Protection Equipment
The half mask offers highly effective health protection during paint spray-
ing work and associated jobs in environments that pose a health risk. The
half mask is part of the personal protective equipment PPE in combination
with protective boots, protective overalls, protective gloves and hearing
protection, if necessary.
2.3. Use in explosive atmospheres
Danger to life from explosion
When using the half mask in potentially explosive atmospheres of ex-
zone 0, it is possible for an explosion to occur.
→ Never bring the half mask into potentially explosive atmospheres of
ex-zone 0.
The half mask is approved for use/storage in explosive atmospheres of
ex-zone 1 and 2.
The product labelling must be adhered to.
2.4. Safety Instructions
Technical status
■ Inspect the half mask for damage every time before it is used.
■ Never start using the half mask when damaged or when parts are
missing.
■ Breathing filters, prefilters and filtering half masks may no longer be
used at the latest when the device user tastes or smells the penetration
of pollutants.
■ Never make any unauthorised modifications or technical changes to the
half mask.
Cleaning
■ Never use acidic or alkaline cleaning agents to clean the half mask.
■ Never use cleaning agents based on halogenated hydrocarbons.
Point of use
■ The use of oxygen or oxygen-enriched air is not permitted.
■ The use of gas filters with designation A1 against low boilers < 65 °C is
not allowed (also applies to combination filters, e.g. A2 P3 R D; colour
