2.0 - VCPI
2.1 - TECHNICAL DATA
• Room temperature : refer to the operating temperature of the valve on which it is installed.
2.2 - INSTALLATION
It is necessary to work in a non-explosive atmosphere and shut off the gas before installation.
• If the VCPI kit (4) is supplied separately from the valve, proceed as follows to install it:
• In place of the cap (2) screw in the VCPI kit (4). Make sure that between the body (1) and VCPI kit (4) there is the aluminium
washer (3);
• Tighten the VCPI kit (4) onto the valve body (1) with a special commercial spanner;
• The kit is now installed. Open and close the solenoid valve (by supplying and cutting off power) 2-3 times checking that the
red indicator (5) is visible when the valve is closed (not powered).
2.3 - INSTALLATION IN PLACES WHERE THERE IS THE RISK OF EXPLOSION (DIRECTIVE 2014/34/EU)
The VCPI complies with Directive 2014/34/EU as a device of group II, category 3G and as device of group II, category 3D;
consequently, it is suited for installation in zones 2 and 22 as classified in Annex I of Directive 99/92/EC. The VCPI is NOT
suitable for use in zones1, 21, 0 and 20, as defined in aforementioned Directive 99/92/EC. To determine the qualification and
size of the hazardous zones, please refer to standard IEC EN 60079-10-1.
If installed and subject to maintenance in full compliance with all conditions and technical instructions provided in this manual, the
device does not pose a source of specific hazards: in particular, under conditions of normal operation, it is not expected for the
solenoid valve to emit a flammable substance into the atmosphere with methods such as to originate an explosive atmosphere.
