Range of use
The camlight Nova can be used with
camcorders (video cameras) and
digital cameras with movie mode.
It can also be useful as a setting
light when shooting in a dark envi-
ronment. (For the exposure the
camera flash light should be used.)
Inserting batteries
The light requires 5 AA-size rechar-
geable NiMH batteries (not inclu-
ded). Do not use non-rechargeab-
le batteries!
Push the release button (8) and
open the battery compartment (1)
(fig. B). Insert the batteries as shown
in fig. C. Ensure that the polarity of
the batteries complies with the mar-
kings in the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment (fig.
D).
Attaching the light
The mounting foot (4) of the light can
be set to two different positions thus
giving the light a vertical or horizon-
tal position. See fig. E and F for set-
ting the desired position.

Now move the locking screw (3)
upwards towards the light and slide
the mounting foot (4) into the acces-
sory shoe of the camcorder/camera
or the mounting bracket. Turn the
locking screw (3) in the opposite
direction to secure the attachment
(fig. G – I).
The mounting foot (4) has a 1/4" tri-
pod thread (5) for attaching the light
on a stand (fig. K).
Operating the light
Do not use the light without the
safety front attachment (6). Please
note that the safety attachment gets
hot after some time and should not
be touched during operation or
shortly afterwards.
Use the On/Off switch (2) to operate
the light.
Replace or recharge the batteries
when brightness goes down notice-
ably.
Changing the lamp
Switch the light of and let it cool
down. Then turn the safety attach-
ment (6) clockwise and remove it.
Pull the lamp (9) out from the fitting
(fig. L, M).
For replacement use only the speci-
fied lamp (20 W, 6 V, 3200 K, code
no. 3027).
