WARNING: Note all safety notices, in-
structions, illustrations and technical
data provided with this device. Failure to
follow the safety notices and instructions may
result in electric shock, fire and / or injuries.
Instructions for Safe Operation
■ This device may be used by children aged 8
and over and by people with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experi-
ence and/or knowledge if they are supervised
or have received instruction on how to use the
device safely and have understood the dangers
resulting from this.
■ Children must not play with the device.
■ Cleaning and user maintenance must not be
performed by children older than 8 years of
age without supervision.
■ Children younger than 8 years of age and an-
imals must be kept away from the device and
the connecting cable.
■ WARNING: Charcoal or similar fuels must not
be used with this device.
■ The device is not designed to be operated with
an external timer or a separate remote control
system.
■ Note the cleaning instructions in the "After Use /
Cleaning and Storage" chapter!
CAUTION: hot surfaces!
While the device is operating, its surfaces
may become very hot. Do not come into
contact with heated parts while or after
using the device! Only ever touch the han-
dles and the controllers while the device
is in operation or immediately after it has
been switched off. Wear barbecue gloves
which have been inspected in accordance
with Regulation (EU) 2016/425 for person-
al protective equipment in line with DIN
EN 407 (heat protection category II). Wait
until the device has cooled down before it
is transported, cleaned or stored away.
■ The device is suitable for use outdoors.
■ The device needs to be supplied via a residual
current device (RCD) with a rated tripping cur-
rent of no more than 30 mA.
■ The device must be connected to a plug socket
with a protective earthing conductor (for devic-
es belonging to protection class I).
■ The mains connecting cable must be exam-
ined regularly for any signs of damage and, if
the mains connecting cable is damaged, the
device may no longer be used.
■ If the mains connecting cable of this device
is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu-
facturer, its customer service department or a
similarly qualified person in order to avoid any
hazards.
■ Do not make any modifications or repairs to the
device. Also do not replace the mains connect-
ing cable yourself. If the device or its accessories
are damaged, they must be repaired or replaced
by the manufacturer, customer service depart-
ment or a specialist workshop in order to avoid
any hazards.
■ The device must always be disconnected from
the mains power when it is not in use, not be-
ing supervised, and before transporting, assem-
bling, disassembling or cleaning it.
DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock
■ Do not use the device when it is raining.
■ Do not operate or store the device in rooms with high humidity.
■ Never immerse the device and the connecting cable in water
or other liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or
become wet.
■ Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply
immediately. Only after this should you pull the device out of
the water.
■ Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned, been dropped or
fallen in water in order to avoid any hazards. Have it checked in
a specialist workshop before using it again.
■ Never touch the device and the connecting cable with wet
hands when the device is connected to the mains power.
WARNING – Danger of Fire
■ Keep the barbecue area away from flammable vapours and
liquids such as petrol, kerosene, alcohol etc.
■ There must be no flammable or heat-sensitive materials within a
radius of 60 cm of the device when it is in operation or still hot.
■ The ventilation openings must not be covered; the device could
overheat. Do not cover the device while it is still hot to prevent
a fire.
■ WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, this appliance shall
not be covered by any solid or flexible material such as an
aluminium tray, aluminium foil or trays made of other heat re-
sistant material. The use of such items or materials on the grille
would be impair the safety of your product and could lead to
serious damage.
■ Food must not touch the heating element. It could ignite.
■ Always make sure that the plug socket which is being used has
the appropriate voltage for the device. Plug sockets must also
be suitable for devices with power consumption of 3200 watts
(model: EB1001-GS) or 2860 watts (model: EB1001-UK).
■ Make sure that no other devices with high power consumption
are connected to the same circuit while the device is in opera-
tion in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit
(fire).
■ Only use extension cables which are suitable for this power.
■ Do not use cable extension reels.
■ Make sure that foodstuffs containing oil and fats are not over-
heated. Do not place any oil-filled vessels into the device. Clean
the grease tray regularly.
